HOW TO FORMULATE A LORATADINE CLEAR SYRUP

1. Crush Benzoic Acid and make it absolutely fine powder.
2. Take Propylene Glycol (30 Litres) and heat it 80oC.
3. Place a neat and clean absolutely dry S.S. container under the stirrer, add hot Propylene Glycol into it. Turn on the stirrer and add sifted Benzoic Acid. Wait till a clear solution is obtained.
4. Add Loratadine into above solution while stirring is going on. Wait until a clear solution is obtained. (Solution A).
5. Shift Sugar Base to Final Mixer, filtering it through 100 mesh at delivery end.
6. Turn on the mixer.
7. Add Glycerine (75.600 Kg).
8. Add “Solution A” into Final Mixer. Be careful, do not add any water in the container of “Solution A” to get any residue of “Solution A” to be added into Final Mixer.
9. Dissolve Citric Acid and Aspartame in about 30 litres of hot Deionized Water; add the solution into Final Mixer.
10. Dissolve Sodium Chloride in about 30 litres of Deionized Water; add the solution into Final Mixer.
11. Add Flavour into Final Mixer.
12. Make up the volume with Deionized Water.
13. Mix the batch for one hour. Filter it through meta filter using “Hiflow” as filtration aid. When the syrup becomes clear, raise the sample to Q.A.
