(B) Inhibition of translocation of peptidoglycan precursor across the cytoplasmic membrane

Vancomycin inhibits the enzyme peptidoglycan synthetase, which is responsible for translocation of precursor across the cytoplasmic membrane and a subsequently incorporated in the growing point of pre existing peptidoglycan.
